Hard to explain and even harder to pronounce - for those who doesn't live in Denmark and have taken in the Danish identity and mentality, that is. The Danish word 'hygge' translates roughly to 'cosiness' but is far more than that.
In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.
The warm glow of candlelight is Hygge. Friends and family – that is Hygge too. There is nothing more "hyggeligt" than sitting around a table, discussing the big and small topics in life.
Perhaps Hygge explains why the Danes are some of the happiest people in the world? (cf. Visit Denmark)

Organic. Seasonal ingredients. Innovative. Secure. Sustainable.
These are some of the words describing the Danish and Nordic Cuisine nowadays. Just a decade ago, Nordic gastronomy was not exactly talk of the town, and nobody for sure would travel to explore it. This has changed dramatically, and one of the main reasons is that our leading gastronomic restaurants started using Nordic products reflecting the changing of the seasons and expressing the purity, freshness, simplicity and ethics that everybody wants to associate with their own region, while maintaining a basic focus on nutritional value and good taste.

Danish organic food products continue to play a key role in the success story of the Danish and New Nordic Cuisine, as the basic organic principles or purity, animal welfare and sustainability go hand in hand with the spirit of the movement.
